The Rio Linda Elverta Recreation and Park District is preparing for a lot of new development to take place within the Elverta area. As part of the expansion of residential housing and new commercial business, the Recreation and Park District is planning on a new 43 acre sports park and full service community center as part of the project. There will also be more parks throughout the new communities as they are built. Construction on this project should begin in early 2019. Currently the plans are being finalized with Sacramento County.
On Saturday, December 9th the Rio Linda Elverta Recreation and Park District will be hosting their annual Breakfast with Santa and Holiday Craft Fair at the Rio Linda Community Center from 9:00am-12:00pm. Come join us to meet Santa and look for some great gift ideas at the Craft Fair. This is a great way to start an amazing day in Rio Linda as the light parade and tree lighting also take place on December 9th.
The Rio Linda Community Center will be closed for some maintenance and repairs from December 26-29. We will be open for regular business on Tuesday, January 2nd, 2018.
Looking for some ideas for the kids during their winter break? The Rio Linda Elverta Recreation and Park District will be hosting winter camp with Mad Science from Tuesday, January 2nd-Friday, January 5th. The camp will take place at the Rio Linda Community Center at 810 Oak Lane and campers have the option of a full day (9:00am-5:00pm); or a ½ day mornings with Mad Science (9:00am-12:00pm); or ½ day afternoons with our recreation staff (12:30-5:00pm).
