Rio Linda High School and local football star Bershawn Walker is fighting for his life following a single-car accident on Saturday. A standout from the Class of 2005, Walker was known for his incredible defensive prowess, including eight interceptions during the 2004 season. His long list of accolades includes being named 1st Team All-State, All-Metro Defensive Player of the Year, and CVC MVP.

The accident reportedly occurred as Walker began choking on food, which resulted in a single-car accident. He was the sole occupant of the vehicle, and first responders were on scene quickly.

A two-way starter at Rio Linda High, Walker was a force on the field at 5’9″ and 175 pounds, earning recognition as a 1st Team All-Section and two-time All-CVC player.

The RLHS community is devastated by the news. We will continue to provide updates as they become available.
