Rio Linda High School: This Week in Sports (9/15 – 9/20)


Get ready for an action-packed week of sports, Rio Linda! Our student-athletes are competing in a variety of home and away games, and they need your support.

Monday, September 15

The varsity flag football team pitched a shutout to Sutter last week, winning 19-0.
  • Flag Football is back at home, facing off against El Camino. The JV game kicks off at 5:00 PM, followed by the Varsity at 6:00 PM.

Tuesday, September 16

  • Girls Golf hosts Lindhurst at Haggin Oaks Golf Course with a 3:00 PM tee time.
  • Girls Volleyball hits the court at home against Natomas. The Frosh team plays at 4:30 PM, JV at 5:30 PM, and Varsity at 6:30 PM.

Wednesday, September 17

  • Flag Football travels to Destiny Christian for a Varsity-only game at 6:00 PM.
  • Water Polo is in the pool at home, hosting Woodland. The boys’ game is at 4:00 PM and the girls’ at 5:00 PM.
  • Girls Golf is away at Wild Wings Golf Club in Dixon for a 3:00 PM tee time.

Thursday, September 18

  • Girls Volleyball plays Woodland, with game times set for 4:30 PM (Frosh), 5:30 PM (JV), and 6:30 PM (Varsity). The location is still to be determined.

Friday, September 19

  • Football travels to Natomas. The JV team plays at 5:00 PM, followed by the Varsity at 7:00 PM.

Saturday, September 20

  • Cross Country will compete in the Springview XC Invitational in Rocklin, with a 7:30 AM start.
