    We installed our new officers for the 2017-2018 year and honored members that worked hard to make 2016-2017 successful. I am proud to announce:

    Lion of the Year – Francis An for not only being an excellent Rio Linda Lion Secretary but also representing us as the Zone Chair. Frances An is also the dedicated chair of Ruby’s Baskets and steps up to gather raffle prizes for many of our events.

    Supporting Lion of the Year – Laury Porter  is Frances’s husband and helps her with all of her commitments both with Lions and outside of the Lions. Laury chaired the Welcome to Rio Linda Sign project and he also acts as the Rio Linda Lions Tail Twister and Lion Tamer.

    Lion Felix Mata, Treasurer, was recognized for providing the information necessary to get the 501c3, Assuring accurate accounting of both our Trust and Administrative account and providing guidance information to members to assure correct application, and giving detailed event reports to allow the club to understand the costs and benefits.

    Lion Ed Valencia, Membership Chair and 1st Vice President, was recognized for maintaining Troy Gram Park and assuring the American Flag represents us and our country respectfully, engaging  with members of our community to make the Welcome to Rio Linda sign successful and being a bartender extraordinaire at our events to assure happiness and revenue generation.

    Lion Larry George, 3rd Vice President, was recognized for putting his blood, sweat and truck in action to make the Welcome to Rio Linda Sign happen, chairing the Beef Stew and Pie event for the Rio Linda Lions and community, and applying his awesome grilling skills to the Steak and Lake event for everyone’s’ culinary enjoyment.

    Lion Tabatha Worth, 2nd Vice President, was recognized for activating her awesome community relations to increase the donations to Ruby’s Baskets, bringing out her inner child to effectively evaluate  and give the right toy to each child served by  Ruby’s Baskets and putting on a fantastic murder mystery community theater event in conjunction with the Rio Linda Community Theater Group
