Rio Linda residents looking for their morning donut fix were met with closed doors at Jimmy’s Donuts (748 M St.) on Tuesday, January 7th.
A Sacramento County routine inspection resulted in the temporary closure of the shop due to the presence of cockroaches and other health code violations.
The inspection report details the discovery of live German cockroaches in multiple areas, including over 10 adults and egg masses found under the coffee machine. Additional violations included unclean surfaces, damaged property, and improper food storage practices. Inspectors observed old food debris on the floor and “soiled” cardboard used as a liner under flour. Gaps and holes were also noted in the ceiling panels.
Thankfully, the closure was short-lived. Jimmy’s Donuts passed a re-inspection on Wednesday, January 8th, and has been granted a green placard, signifying compliance with health regulations.
