Developers have filed plans to redevelop the property at 1556 Bell Avenue, on the corner of Bell and Raley, formerly known as the Detour Inn, The Country Comfort Lounge, and the Roadhouse.

The plans for this long dormant property include a rezone, conditional use permit and site plan and design review for a commercial center, including a two-story, 16,965-square-foot commercial building and two pads of around 3,000 square feet, which would have drive-thrus and be used for fast food or coffee shops.

Six parcels, which are currently either undeveloped or vacant, would be combined for the project, very similar to how the Rite Aid/Starbucks property was developed in Rio Linda.

  1. That intersection is busy enough as it is, and too many idiot drivers. And they want to put in drive-thru fast food? Are they out of their ever-lovin’ minds?!?!?
