Local News The Big Picture

Say Hello to Michael Wardle.

The internet is truly an amazing thing.

I know many of you don’t have the enthusiasm, or patience for internet technologies that I do but I’m here to tell you… if you hang around this virtual neighborhood that I’ve created here at Rio Linda Online long enough, some amazing things will happen.

As part of the marketing for the website, I’ve created a page for it on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/riolindaonline) as well at Twitter (http://www.twitter.com/riolindaonline). These tools have exposed RLO to many people that may never have run across it otherwise and in general, these people are GREAT!

One of these people is Micheal Wardle. We connected through the Rio Linda group on Facebook, and I’ve been enjoying his virtual company ever since. You see, Mike is one of the folks that “gets it”. He understands the attraction of living in Rio Linda and Elverta, and really, REALLY appreciates it.

Mike takes a lot of spectacular pictures around town and on his property and posts them to Facebook. His pictures are of the things we see every day out here in the country, and things we’d like to protect from the encroachment of suburbia… Places around town, a vegetable garden, a spectacular sunset, unique airplanes at McClellan, hawks, hummingbirds, and even the nieghbor’s chickens.

He’s been so kind to now allow me to use his pictures on RLO.

So, everyone say hi to Michael! I’m sure he’d like to meet ya
