Sacramento, CA – On March 22, 2018, The Sacramento SAFE Team conducted a one day operation throughout North Sacramento County. The focus of the operation was to
make contact with probationers assigned to a sex offender caseload and ensure compliance with their terms and conditions of probation, as well as, their requirement to register pursuant to Penal Code 290.

The operation was led by the Sacramento County Probation Department, in conjunction with the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department, and the United States Marshals Service.

The probation sweep resulted in:

  • 15 home visit attempts
  • 10 home visits
  • 10 probation searches conducted
  • Six field visits
  • Six Violation of Probations (VOP) pending
  • One Violation of Probation arrest
  • Two fresh arrests for possession of Methamphetamine and Vicodin
  • One warrant arrest
  • One Child Protective Service (CPS) referral

The SAFE Team is a multi-jurisdictional task force, comprised of seven Sacramento County Probation officers, three Sacramento County Sheriff’s detectives, one Deputy
US Marshal and one Sacramento Police Department detective. The SAFE Team is assigned to supervise, monitor, and arrest registered sex offenders out of compliance
with their statutory requirement to register, or are in violation of their probation or parole status. The SAFE Team members are actively involved in community awareness
programs and avail themselves for educational presentations to local, civic, and neighborhood organizations.
