SHRA launches new Sacramento Emergency Rental Assistance (SERA) Program for renters impacted by COVID-19

Sacramento Housing and Redevelopment Agency, in partnership with the City and the County of Sacramento, is offering emergency rental assistance for residents who have experienced a loss or reduction in wages due to COVID-19.

Applications for the new Sacramento Emergency Rental Assistance (SERA) program will be accepted online beginning Friday, October 9 through Thursday, October 22, 2020.

TO BE ELIGIBLE, RENTERS MUST:

  • Show employment income lost or decreased because of COVID-19
  • Rent your home in the City of Sacramento or the unincorporated County of Sacramento
  • Have a written lease or rental agreement or SERA Rental Verification form signed by the landlord AND a current utility bill in your name
  • Have current household income at or below 50% of the Area Median Income (AMI)
