Last night (Friday May 10) a man was shot and killed on Radalyc Way behind MarVal Plaza near Curved Bridge Road and Cherry Lane.
This was the second homicide and shooting in Rio Linda in as many weeks.
Sgt. Jason Ramos of the Sacramento County Sheriff said deputies responded to a house on the 6800 block of Radalyc Way, after getting reports of a shooting around 10:15 p.m. There they found 28 year old Deandre Smith of Sacramento with a gunshot wound to his upper body. Paramedics pronounced the man dead at the scene.
Two men were at the house at the time of the shooting and were detained for questioning.
Ramos said deputies pulled over a car that matched the description of a car leaving the scene of the shooting, but no arrests were made.
No suspects have been identified in the shooting.
Just last week, a woman identified as 51-year-old Julia Bullinger Ray was shot to death in her Lilac Lane home.
