West Placer County to Conduct Aerial Larvicide Treatments

Elverta, CA – To combat the mosquito population and reduce the risk of mosquito-borne diseases, Placer Mosquito and Vector Control District will be conducting aerial larvicide treatments in the agricultural areas, rice fields, and marshes of west Placer County on August 26th and 27th.

These treatments aim to prevent the emergence of adult mosquitoes by targeting mosquito larvae in their aquatic habitats. An EPA-registered biorational larvicide will be applied by a low-flying aircraft during daylight hours, typically between early morning and early afternoon.

Please note that larvicide treatments will only be applied to irrigated rice fields.

For more information, please contact the Placer Mosquito and Vector Control District at (916) 380-5444.
