RIO LINDA, CA — Residents of Rio Linda and Elverta will soon have a massive new retail destination practically in their backyard. Costco Wholesale Corp. has confirmed it is set to open its newest location at 5200 Baseline Road in West Roseville later this month.
According to the “new locations” section of the retailer’s website, the store is scheduled to open its doors on January 23.

Proximity to Rio Linda and Elverta
For many in the Rio Linda and Elverta communities, this new location represents a significant upgrade in convenience. Located at the northwest corner of Baseline and Walerga roads, the new warehouse is a straight shot down Baseline Road for local residents.
This new option will likely save residents the longer drive time required to reach the existing Costco locations on Douglas Boulevard in Roseville or in Natomas.
What to Expect
The new 160,529-square-foot warehouse will feature a gas station and car wash, offering full amenities to local shoppers. It marks Costco’s second location in Roseville and joins 11 other locations in the greater Sacramento area.
Costco purchased the land for the West Roseville store in the summer of 2024 for $6.88 million.
A Growing Shopping District: Baseline Marketplace
The new Costco is just the beginning for the area. The store is the anchor tenant of a new retail center dubbed Baseline Marketplace, which is projected to cover approximately 744,000 square feet.
While additional tenants have not been officially confirmed by the leasing agents, Gallelli Real Estate, city records and previous reports suggest that major retailers such as Home Depot and Target could join the center. Additionally, the Sacramento Business Journal reported in November that the popular chicken chain Raising Cane’s has proposed a location at 5160 Baseline Road, within the same shopping complex.
As West Roseville continues to expand, the border between Elverta and major retail hubs continues to shrink, bringing big-box convenience closer to home than ever before.
