Rio Linda’s Jason Green Named Sac County Hero of Human Service

The Heroes of Human Service Awards recognition was created to honor those who have touched the lives of others through their advocacy, dedication, service and support throughout Sacramento County.

On Tuesday, November 5, the Board of Supervisors recognized and awarded “Human Service Awards” to heroes in their districts.

Jason Green, the President of the Rio Linda Elverta Historical Society and Rio Linda Elverta Community Water District board member was honored by District Supervisor Sue Frost.

The resolution reads as follows:

and WHEREAS, too often, the efforts of those who are committed to improving the lives of fellow residents go unnoticed so it is the hope that this recognition will serve as a confirmation of appreciation for all they do; and WHEREAS, JASON GREEN is being recognized as a Hero of Human Service by Sue Frost for service to the citizens of Sacramento County as President and longtime volunteer for the Rio Linda Elverta Historical Society;

and WHEREAS, JASON GREEN is also active in the Rio Linda Grange and serves on the Board of Directors for the community water district;

and WHEREAS, JASON GREEN assists the American Legion with their annual swap meet and car show; and WHEREAS, JASON GREEN was instrumental in starting the pumpkin patch at the Rio Linda Grange which evolved into the community growing giant pumpkins and entering them into the Elk Grove Pumpkin Festival and the First Growers Forum;

and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of Sacramento, State of California, hereby extends its sincere appreciation to JASON GREEN for serving as an exemplary role model for both young and old by giving of his time to organizations that improve the lives of others in Sacramento County and beyond, thus improving the quality of life we all enjoy in Sacramento County.
