The latest in my collection of old Rio Linda and Elverta photos and scans. From simpler, slower times. Times when the chickens still ruled the roost.
Some things to notice here… The apartments are there on Elkhorn at Rio Linda blvd, but not much else. This looks like It may have been taken in front of the old Shell station that stood where the gigantic cow-mart is now. Also, the gas station on M street has been there an awfu long time. Looks like it was a hancock before it was a Regal (which is as far back as my recollection goes). Looks like the big hill is there on M street, but at least the crossing is there, and not south near the water district.
