Knights Win over Pioneer of Woodland 42-6

In the penultimate game of the 2017 football season, the Rio Linda Knights scored a decisive win over the Pioneer Patriots of Woodland, 42 – 6.

The Knights cruised in the first half, scoring 42 unanswered points before halftime.

Rio Linda dominated this game, only allowing Pioneer to score a touchdown in the last minute of play in the 4th quarter. The Patriots were denied an extra point.

Rio Linda improves their record to 6-3, while the defeat dropped Pioneer’s record to 1-8.

The Knights will face undefeated #3 Inderkum at home next week, 7pm at Rio Linda High School. Inderkum is coming in well rested, having a bye this week.

The Knights will go into the Sac-Joaquin Section Division III playoffs seeded 9th.

Junior Varsity also won, 40-7.
