I’m hearing, and seeing, that the fall fest fundraiser for Kristi Davis was wildly successful. There was a spaghetti dinner, raffle prizes, fun for kids, and vendors. To donate and help fund Kristi Davis’ surgery, you can visit http://www.skyraise.com/kristidavis_prs_surgery online, or drop by Mama’s Creamery. Thanks to Shelly Goyet for pictures.

Favorite Son in World Series… Finally!
Many have said it’s not about the destination, but about the journey.
I believe favorite son Darren Oliver would have something to dispute about that. Oliver has had a circuitous career once he left Rio Linda high school, pitching for eight different teams over the past eighteen years. He’s finally landed back home with the Texas Rangers who drafted him in 1988 and has helped them win the American League pennant. He will almost certainly see action in the World Series over the coming week.

Pardon my Dust…
Things looking a little different around here, I know. I discovered a new site template that is similar to the last one, but has plenty of bells and whistles to keep me happy. It’s SEO optimized, handles media (audio and video) better and is much much cleaner than the last revision. So, Give me a […]
Analysis: Who Can Come to the Rescue of Rio Linda?
The Sacramento Bee posted and op/ed piece this morning about the molasses-like morass that’s been destroying the Rio Linda water district for years under the sinister watch of Mary Harris and Vivien whatever-her-name-is-this-week. Here’s my in-depth analysis of the article: The Rio Linda water district takes dysfunction to whole new depths. It is so riven […]

So, this post has NOTHING to do with Rio Linda, but I’m going to work it in somehow.
Friday Night Lights: Rio Linda drops a tough one
After the Knights had maintained possession for most of the 4th quarter, Del Campo finally took control of the ball and quickly scored a touchdown with a punishing running game. Another touchdown with less than 2 minutes remaining sealed the deal, and the Knights fell in thier first league game of the year, 21-10.
Another Thursday, Another Market!
Ah, small town Rio Linda on a cool Autumn night. The Thursday night Farmer’s Market and Peddler’s fair is happening again… Get on out there! What are you waiting for?
New Fish Wrap, Does Anyone Care?
I would encourage everyone who cares the least bit about Rio Linda continuing as a smalltown community to ask any business that carries the NCN or advertises in the NCN to stop those activities.
Spectacular Rio Linda Wedding Pictures
I just stumbled upon some fantastic pictures from Emily Heizer photography. These wedding pictures were taken at the Dry Creek Ranch House, and at Gibson Ranch a couple of weeks ago, September 23rd.

The Natomas Nighthawks scratched out a tough win against the streaking Rio Linda Knights, 13-12.

Fresh Water Board Meeting video
It’s disturbing how badly Vivien Johnson treats the ratepayers, and electors. She’s a tyrant, having taken over the districts business from Cathy Nelson-Hood who can’t be bothered with the position of president.
Water board votes to accept legal contract; Needs police backup
A lot happened but the highlight of the evening was when 2 Twin Rivers patrol cars arrived because Cathy Nelson-Hood called them to remove the audience from the meeting.
