The Division of Planning and Environmental Review has announced the release of a public review draft of the updated Sacramento County Zoning Code. This new Zoning Code streamlines the entitlement review process in a user-friendly format with clear standards. A User Guide has also been prepared to help residents navigate this new Zoning Code, and understand common planning and entitlement procedures most likely to be encountered when developing property in the County. This guide compiles requirements for application content, forms, fees, and the submission and review schedules.
Over the next several months, division staff will be conducting a number of workshops for the new Zoning Code with customers and the various Community Planning Advisory Councils (CPACs). The new Zoning Code is targeted for adoption by the Board of Supervisors by the end of this summer.
