Our Knights finished out a tough season last night, dropping a game to the Oakmont Vikings 21-18.
This season was supposed to be a tough one, with a move up to Division 2 and a completely realigned Capitol Valley Conference, but I don’t think the Knights expected it to be quite this tough. After an 0 and 3 stretch, the Knights were looking to this game as one that was winnable, and finishing the year on a high note. Oakmont kept them guessing, however, with gimmick plays and smart audibles.
Oakmont’s first score was a quick 64-yard slant just 15 seconds into the game.
The Knights battled throughout the game, but gave up some costly turnovers deep in Oakmont territory. In the end the Knights came up a field goal short, and could have used the possession that a questionable posession call on an onside kick would have given them late in the 4th quarter.
Congratulations to all the Seniors on 4 years of commitment, and good luck in your futures.
Thanks to Shelly Goyet for the pictures!

Thank you John for posting these…its great to see even after a loss on the final game of the season, and for some, their very last football game, these boys can put a smile on their faces and show what true brotherhood is all about! Some of these boys have gone to kindergarten all the way through school together and played all their years of football together too…that’s what makes a TEAM!! Commitment to each other! I will miss thesse days for as long as I live…but sooooo glad my son has found the most dedicated friends he will ever know!!! Love these Boys of Fall…and beyond!!!
Stay tuned…there’s 3 more Goyet boys coming up in the game!!! I Can’t wait!!!
I love you Patrick Michael Anthony Goyet!!!! NO REGRETS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
John, I also want to thank you for posting the pictures from the events. I know that Pat and Shelley are very dedicated to the sports activities of the family. I get all my updates from them or your web-site. This team fought one heck of a season. Their dedicated team spirit will bond them to the next season and beyond. Great job to Patrick and his team mates. Also, great job to the parents and devoted vans.
Thanks Barb. I didn’t get a chance to get out to many games this year, but Shelly’s been a good fill-in photographer. I need to talk to the AD at the high school about getting sideline access for pictures… maybe get to some basketball games as well.
